Jodi & Gary's Monster Bash

This is the Maxon's 28th Halloween Party. I look forward to it every year. They go out and have a great time. They hire a band, bartenders, catered food, trophies for best costumes, etc.

The joke of the night was a cheese puff. Take a peek and you'll see what I mean. lol

Thanks Jodi and Gary!

Kim and Dale's Wedding Day

This is my first wedding that I have photographed in over 10 years. I use to photograph weddings almost every weekend in my early career and when my kids got older and started playing sports I gave up weddings for portraits. I couldn't bare to miss my son's football or baseball games.

Well, I have photographed this family several times and I consider them friends. She only asked my four times before I agreed to photograph the wedding. lol I kept saying it's been sooo long.

I had a wonderful time at the wedding and wish them many years of happiness.

English Kate

This is the very adorable Kate who didn't want "foo foo" for her portraits, so after some discussion found out that she has a horse and loves to ride English. Of course, that is what we needed to photograph.

I love these! Hope you do too.

Thanks Kate!

Vintage Caitey

This is my beautiful, sweet girl Caitey. (No I'm not a proud mom) She has been wanting to have a session with vintage clothing, hair and make up and I was dying to photograph her since she is only one of my favorite subjects. We called up the fabulous duo: Sonia Trevino, the hair expert, and Randee Strand, the make up queen, to come to the studio and work their magic. It only took 2 months for all four of our schedules to be free at the same time. lol It was worth the wait. I love these images.

We made up five different looks and photographed all day. Sooo Fun. Thank you Sonia, Randee and Caitey.

Caitey is on Model Mayheim if you would like to see more of her images. Her number is 726672.

Emily's Senior Album 09

This is the beautiful Emily's Senior Album.  I also photographed her 8th graduation and she was adorable back then.

She is one of my California clients that I recently flew home to photograph.  It's always a pleasure to see the family and I have photographed them at least 4 times over the last several years. The whole family is wonderful to work with.

Take a peek at her album.

The Ranch

These are the best kids to photograph. Especially little cutie pie, Tatum Grace, she loves to be photographed and is sad when we are done after 2 hours of photography!

I've made a video out of the 30 page/15 side album.

Enjoy!

Jennifer and Keith's Wine Tasting Party

Jennifer and Keith recently hosted a Wine Tasting Party and it was a blast. They asked everyone to bring a bottle of wine in "disguise" and $10 cash. The person who brought the wine with the most votes wins the pot of cash.

It was so much fun and what a great way to taste a bunch of different wines that you might have never picked out for yourself. But, what made me laugh was after the wine was all gone we went upstairs to the bar and Angie played bartender and made up shots for everyone.  She swore they were "real" drinks, but I think she made it all up.  As you can see it got a little crazy.

Thanks Jennifer and Keith!

Boston - Photoshop World 09

My best bud,  Liddie, and I attended Photoshop World and had a blast. Out of all the conventions we attend/work at this is the first time we arrived a few days early to sight see. I have fallen in love with Boston. It has so much charm. It just needs to warm up! It was 32 degrees when we were there. We walked all day sight seeing and we must of stopped into Starbucks 5 times for coffee to try and warm up.

Those beautiful images of all the marble, the lion, and the books was taken at the Public Library where Good Will Hunting was filmed. It was breathtaking.

Jennifer Hudson who is a fabulous photographer and use to live in Fort Worth moved to Boston two years ago and she was so sweet to show us around and take us to here favorite restaurants. Thanks Jenn!

I can't wait to go back. Well, yes I can, when it warms up.

In Loving Memory of Michael Galatolo

I would like to share a wonderful story of true unconditional love and determination. Michael was diagnosed with skin cancer last September that turned into brain cancer. Kim never left Michael's side for months and happily took wonderful care of him. I truly am in awe.

To read her journal/blog please go to www.caringbridge.org/visit/michaelgalatolo

She is an amazing writer and we are all encouraging her to publish it into a book to help other family's dealing with cancer. Please if you have a strange discoloration on your skin, Go To The Doctor's Office!

These images were taken 8 days before Michael left us. They have both touched my life beyond words. I have know Kim since the fifth grade and Michael for over 25 years. Kim and I were inseparable in high school and raised our small children together. And, boy do we have stories to tell...

Michael was the type of guy that was always there for you. A kind smile and a helping hand. I never think of Michael as "idle". He was also working in the yard, cleaning up after the kids, in the garage tinkering like guys do, fixing projects around the house, etc. And always with a smile on his face.

When Kim told me that the doctors were giving Michael only two more weeks to live I jumped on that plane to California to photograph their last family portrait. I knew how important that would be for me as my final gift I could give the family and also for Kim, Dante, and Marina to have a lasting memory of their husband and father. I also wanted to be able to say goodbye.

I am so ever grateful that I was able to do that for them. No one can ever say what we as photographers do for a living is just take pretty pictures. We have an important opportunity in the world to touch so many lives with our art. Just imagine if every photographer donated their art even just once a year? There are so many wonderful causes out there that need photography. Now I lay me down to sleep and the Heart Gallery are two wonderful organizations.

What I'm trying to express is that it's not about the photographer, but what we can do to impact others. I am truly blessed and fortunate to call myself a professional photographer and I hope that I can give others joy, peace, comfort, love... for years to come.

Jerry Ghionis

We were so lucky to have Jerry Ghionis, his wife Georgina, and assistant Sally come to the states from Australia. He is a wonderful photographer and teacher. He is rated one of the top 10 wedding photographers in the world.

My daughter, Caitey, modeled for him, so I want to show them off. THESE ARE NOT MY IMAGES! They are Jerry's and some from his students. My images are the color candids and the black and white images were taken by David Edmonson.

The Aussie gang was here for a month. They first flew in to Dallas to present a one day program to my local photography guild and then they flew off to Vegas to teach. Next stop was Los Angeles and then back to Dallas for a week long teaching seminar. I bet they were ready to go home! lol

You know how you just click with certain people! Well, they clicked with a lot of us Americans. We had a lot of fun together. And Jerry can sing. He even serenaded a song to me. That was so much fun!

WPPI 2009

The beginning of the year is the time for all the Photographic Conventions, and WPPI is the largest. Over 13,000 photographers attended. Maybe being in Vegas has something to do with it? lol

The trade show is so large that they needed to split it into two rooms. I worked with Charlie at G. A.  It is so much fun to meet other photographers and to see what they are up to.

Canon hosted a wonderful opening party, Nikon hosted The Blues Traveler's concert and Pictage hosted a Studio 54 night. Yea, that's why there are over 13,000 photographers. lol

Just kidding, the best part is the wonderful speakers that they bring in from all over the WORLD.  Wonderful Programs, Great Trade show, Amazing people. Oh Yea, it was a lot of fun.

Conventions

Conventions

I have been quite busy the beginning of January traveling to and working at conventions. The first one was SPA (Senior Portrait Artist) in Vegas. Then four days later I was off to Phoenix for PPA's Imaging Convention. I was quite flattered that I was asked to help out some of my favorite vendors.

I have a whole new appreciate for people that work the trade shows. After fours hours I couldn't form a complete sentence anymore and I needed a short break. Then I was fine to get back in there. I had a lot of fun meeting new people and running into a lot of familiar faces.

Enjoy the slide show of both trips combined. And I'm home now until WPPI in February! lol

ps - did I forget to mention that after the trade show the vendors throw great parties and we enjoy fabulous dinners too.  Come on now,  have to have a little fun....lol
